Mission Statement for Outreach at St. Timothy's

Open our eyes that we may see the needs of others
Open our ears that we may hear the cries of those in need
Open our hearts that the needy not be without succor
Defend the weak and defend the poor
Learn where love and hope and faith are needed, and use the gifts that God has given us to do God's work.

This ministry reflects St. Timothy's commitment to the Episcopal Church's social justice ministry and basic Christian compassion. We serve an extensive list of agencies and programs that directly provide critical services, by financial support, board membership on agencies supported by St. Timothy's, and by encouraging hands-on involvement by parishioners. We are committed to searching out new opportunities for ways in which our members can participate in city, county, national and worldwide programs.

Outreach activities at St. Timothy's are structured under five team areas:

Hammer & Nails Team - Paul Michael, chair
Hunger & Health Team - Holly Wilson & Ann Schweiss, co-chairs
Outreach Grants Team - Mary Archer, chair
Social Justice Team - Mike McDowell, chair
Teach People to Fish Team - Carolyn Moore, chair
The Central Outreach Team consists of the five outreach team chairs, clergy representatives, and the Outreach chair. The Central team does not take the lead in individual operating team programs. The purpose of the Central Team is to:

Ensure the operating team programs are aligned to the church strategic plan and Outreach mission.
Facilitate planning and coordination between different operating teams.
