In November/December, we collect movie tickets for youth at Lakeside Center and also provide gift items for families and individuals selected by Circle of Concern.
Caritas Felices bilingual preschool
Caritas Felices is the only Spanish/English bilingual daycare center and preschool in the St. Louis area. Located in St. Ann, it serves 50 students and has a capacity for 60. Students are grouped by age (ranging from several months to age 5+) and are taught in both Spanish and English fostering the long term goal of promoting success for kids in English-speaking kindergartens. The facility is open from 6:30-6:30 to accommodate working parents. Volunteers are needed particularly in the morning and after 3 p.m. to help with with classroom projects and to soothe the young infants. The children take a siesta in the early afternoon. You don't need to know Spanish, but you just might learn a few words. A second location of Caritas Felices opened in O'Fallon, MO.
Episcopal City Mission
St. Timothy's provides general financial support for the chaplaincy to youth program sponsored by Episcopal City Mission. Chaplains work at three local youth detention centers -- St. Louis city, St. Louis County (Clayton) and Lakeside Center (Maryland Heights). They provide Spiritual Programs, General Guidance and Support Services, and a Ministry of Presence.
St. Timothy's and Transfiguration Episcopal Church - Lake St. Louis together fund and staff a Reading is Fundamental program at Lakeside Center, where books are distributed monthly.
St. Timothy's provides a birthday party each December at the city youth detention center.
Mitten Collection
In October, we collect mittens, gloves, hats & scarves for Grace Hill Neighborhood Time Dollar Exchange.
