Social Justice Team
St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Creve Coeur Missouri, near St. Louis
The Social Justice Team addresses issues of social justice and public policy that reflect Christ's guidance to do justice, love, mercy, and walk humbly with our God. The team is actively exploring paths for involvement in a variety of issues relating to poverty, inequality, racism, unequal access to services, economic displacement, and other public policy questions, either in cooperation with other groups or on its own initiative. Mike McDowell is chair.
The Kiva Plus team (formerly Oppression to Opportunity) led by Danielle Pennel and Jane Coughlin emerged from the Book Group that read and discussed Half the Sky by Kristof & WuDunn. The team will present at the Adult Forum February 26. Come and learn more! We have made microloans to 18 recipients in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia. Since our recipients have started paying back, we now have enough $$ to continue sponsoring new life-sustaining businesses. We want to invite every member of St. Tim's to become a Kiva member of our team. Click on the link below to join us!.
