To Our Next Rector
The Discernment Team of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church greets you and invites you to read our profile in the same spirit in which we have written it: with prayerfulness, hopefulness, and discerning hearts.
The members of St. Timothy’s repeatedly cite their strong sense of community as both spiritually fulfilling and a reason they continue to belong to St. Timothy’s. We are looking for a rector who strives to be an active and engaged member of that church community. Our ideal rector will not only be enthusiastically engaged in the community but also capable of the following:
St. Timothy’s strives to be inclusive and welcoming to all. Our chosen rector will embody a welcoming spirit and challenge each of us to improve that aspect of our community. We wish to stay close as a community and love each other despite our differences. Our chosen rector will bring us together and resolve conflict in a productive and direct, yet respectful manner.
We are looking for a rector who can provide direction and oversight of both our staff and our volunteers while demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and the ability to take decisive action. We believe strong leadership is critical to increasing volunteer engagement and running a professional administrative staff.
Many members hope we can grow our youth membership and our youth programs. The rector will not be expected to do all of this single-handedly, but we do need the rector to guide this effort and help create a deliberate plan for growth for this segment of our church population.
We are searching for a full-time rector who will thrive in our community of souls who love beautiful music, vibrant liturgy, and the comforting knowledge that God is present in all that we do.
Almighty God, we thank you for your guidance from our beginnings as a small community to the present St. Timothy’s Parish. We ask for your continued help in our search and your guidance to candidates seeking the position so that all we do and become are worthy of glorifying your holy Name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and guide. Amen.
