The Vestry
The Vestry of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church is a 9 - 12-member board of parishioners elected by and representative of the parish to fill the lay role in church governance. Each January at the annual meeting, 3 to 4 members are elected to replace those whose terms are ending. A Senior Warden is appointed by the Rector and the Junior Warden is elected by the vestry. In 2026, the Senior Warden is Ellen Ciesla, and the Junior Warden is Mitzi Uyemura.
In 2020, the Vestry created three documents to be the foundation of its work: Vestry Responsibilities (a revised job description), Vestry Norms (how we do this job), and Vestry Covenant (how we seek to conduct ourselves as members of the St. Timothy’s vestry and greater community). All are living documents and will be revised as times and circumstances change. We invite you to read especially this Covenant and join us in committing to it as a way of being an active member in the St. Timothy’s family following the teachings of Jesus.
